Family time, Conversations with a dumbass & The Computer Genius

I got woken up early from a call from Tiffany who is deathly ill. I never did get back to sleep. I knew Carlos needed to go to Walmart to get some things so I figured we could do that while Kelly was working and be back in time to meet Kelly at the hotel. Kelly found out about Walmart and decided we should wait for her because she had a gift card she wanted to use. So Dad and I picked up Carlos and went to lunch at the Brick Oven. Pretty good. Their white cheese pizza is delish. After lunch, we went downtown to take Mom a portable heater then it was about time to meet up with Kelly. We opted to go to the one in Newport since it wouldn't be over-populated with all of the tourist traffic. Felt like it took forever to get there. We easily spent a few hours there. After a quick stop to Game Stop on the way back, we decided to have mexican food for dinner. The hostess said it would be 45 minutes. But the place was kinda empty. We went to the bar. A waitress came up and asked if we wanted to eat at the bar. We said no, we are waiting for a table. She said " Oh, I can put you at a table now"... Nice. Kelly points out a waiter to me and announces that he's a wife beater.

As we are sitting there, Carlos' phone goes off and he hands it to me. I already know who it is and I already know that this conversation will have me wanting to reach for the razor blades. I answer it. It's the sperm donor. He thinks he's my father. I think he's.... Well, we already know what I think of him. For some reason, he's not comprehending that 1)we are not in Michigan, 2)we are in Tennessee, and 3)I really could care less that he has a company car & gas card and that I don't need to hear him brag about these 2 things with every conversation we have. Before I even answered the phone, I know he is going to do 2 things.. annoy me severely and inquire about my marital status. He does both of these things. Ten minutes into the conversation, I have rolled my eyes so much that I'm actually wondering about the possibility of my eyes falling out. He doesn't seem to understand that it's too late for him to be a father to me. I'm sorry. But I told you before we can be friendly but it will never be the father-daughter relationship you are wanting. With that being said, I don't feel the need to discuss every issue in my life with you. There are only a select few that get that priviledge. I don't trust him with anything. I don't need any marital advice. Divorce is the road we have chose. It's for the best. I know it's for the best. I don't need you to say it's for the best. You don't really know me and you don't know him. Although it is true, I don't want the advice from you. He then tells me he has a Christmas card for me. He asks about my mom. This infuriates me. We haven't spoken in 9+ months because he told me my mom was going to die. Guess he hasn't learned that talking about my mom gets him nowhere with me. He inquired about her health. She's good, her health is great. Next topic. He closes out the conversation by asking what else I'd like to discuss. Nothing, thanks. I ask if he would like to speak with Carlos. He does. Carlos is violently shaking his head "NO!". I gladly pass the phone to him and am glad that is over with.

After dinner, we head back to the hotel so Kelly can give out her gifts. She got me some perfume that smells amazing. It's Goddess by Baby Phat. A pair of sweatpants that she tells me are the best thing ever (very true, kiddo.. they are amazing and I love them)and some Michigan socks which are the warmest socks ever. Kelly and I pretty much took over the computer to check out facebook and myspace. My dad refers to myspace as SpaceBook. Funny stuff. Carlos asks me to create him a "spacebook" which he actually meant a facebook. So I do that and hook him up with some friends. I'm checking my twitter account. He says " You have a twitter account too?" rolling his eyes. I said " heck yeah, little brother. I am down with all the social networks.. myspace, facebook, twitter. I even have a blog. I'm a computer genius.. you have no clue how awesome I am". He laughs and says " You seriously have a blog"? Yes, I do. He asks for the name of it so I tell him and he laughs again, shaking his head.
