Two weeks ago, at the Sunday church service they had a guest speaker. He had an amazing story. Basically which was he had everything, lost it all, gained back, lost again and became depressed and tried to committed suicide but it didn't work. With everything he took, it should have killed him but didn't. It was a very deep message. What really hit me, was at the end, he said that during all this his marriage was strong. His wife was supportive and there for him. She prayed for him every day, to give him strength and help him through this. That hit me, because I pray for Kevin day and night. Usually to keep him safe but always to give him strength and to help him through this difficult time he's going through.
I'm not one to cry in church. I just don't do it. He was a musician and at the end of the service, he started playing a song. As soon as he started playing, I immediately recognized the song. I was fighting back the tears so hard. He started with the lyrics, I blinked and the tears just started rolling down my cheeks. The song was " God Blessed The Broken Road". Hit extremely close to home, because with Kevin and I, that's how we felt. God brought us together after everything we had been through previous to finding each other. I sat there through the song, just crying.
Then the pastor took over and said if anyone needed to come up to the altar to pray, to do so. I probably needed to but didn't want to. I look over and see my boss head up there and she looks upset. I wanted to go up there with her, and hold her hand but I didn't. I stayed and prayed in my seat for her.
After the service, I go over to see her, and I'm still crying. She gives me a hug and says " This message was also for you". I told her I knew and let her hug me while I cried. It was a really emotional service I wasn't expecting.
That night, I left a voicemail for Kevin, just letting him know that I was here from him and that I pray for him every day and hope he is ok. I just felt like reaching out to him and letting him know I was there. I felt like God was letting me know that I needed to be there for him and let him know that I was praying for him. I also felt like God was telling me to pray for him because he needs it. Even though, I'm hurting, he's hurting too.
